Add to that, the steep, slippery stairs were a nightmare, especially with tired kids and my bad back. Definitely not ideal.

Clean and wonderful place, has impressive views over internal lake. The rooms are themed and nicely furnished with a separate lounge, a lounge, and climate control. The location of the hotel in Launceston is perfect, really close to shops, waterfront, and restaurants, the park and views looked over the themed canals and replica port environment and the city centre and other attractions...

We had a great stay and were thrilled with our apartment upgrade, which offered plenty of space for our family. The location is fantastic, right by the gorge and close to the CBD, and the staff were super friendly and helpful throughout our visit.
Morning meal options could be improved with more on-site availability.

The location of being close to places of interest for tourists. The Tavern was warm and welcoming and the meals were excellent value. We would recommend the hotel wholeheartedly.
No. We loved the "old worldliness".

The staff were accommodating, allowing us an early check-in, which was a good surprise. We loved the adventure park right on-site, and the food options were super convenient. Just a heads-up, though: noise from the outside can be an issue, especially during events. We had a fantastic stay!

Very nice stay. I would emphasize the historic nature of the dwelling a bit more as it adds some charm.

When l booked and oragnised my sister from H. K. who visited some years years ago, she was very pleased with the British like old world charm of penny Royal hotel. When we decided to take off for the weekends from Hobart, of which we just moved from mainland NSW nearly 2 yrs back, we instantly thought of staying there, the bonus was the winter offers of course. The suite over looking the waters with the most interestesting waterwheel, though disfunctioned, was so unique .l ,was even more impressed when we went down to the tavern for breakfast, Its like somewhere in England. The waitresses were forever smiling. Front desk was smart to offer us complimentary drinks to keep us dining in at the penny royal, my husbands steak was beautiful, my tasting plate , could be slightly better, if the 100gm steak with sea food and satay chicken comes with appropriate sauce, , quatity was great and priced reasonably. Easy walking to town and was such a lovely stay and we are possitive to promote your hotel to all our visitors, when they visit Launceston. Thank you and hope to bopok with you again.(We did a lot of booking through Booked.net last year during our 8 weeks long eurail trips.) Mrs. mei jack
No. l have nothing to complain....with regard to Hotel side. perhaps suggestions for the restaurant : during the winter, at the main restaurant, we were seated by the door leading to the tavern(the breakfast place), as its was windy that evening, we have to put out with several times guest been taken over to the tavern for casual meal, and we were very cold, not very comfortable when you try to eat and keep your meal warm. You may be able to do something about it

Had fantastic experience, overall quiet little and absolutely great place.
The hotel was a relaxing base for enjoying a great area, so close to Launcestons best attactions, and an amusement park. Greatly enjoyed warm breakfast. It had very central location close to a comprehensive school. I ate in the attached restaurant nearby.

The hotel provides exceptional service with staff that are both friendly and efficient. Its prime location is a key highlight, situated close to the main shopping center and a shopping mall. Location
distance between Reception and our apartment. Also difficulty parking at reception to check in, no clear direction to guest parking off the main road
